All the Pleasures of Beauty and Beneficence is a hand-carved wood sculpture by James Gilbert. Carved from wood and finished with paint and pigmented wax, the sculpture combines rounded and angular forms within a balanced vertical composition. Layers of color remain integrated with the carved surface, allowing both the material and the process of making to remain evident.
