I’d Say There Was Some Remorse but Also Humor is a hand-carved wood sculpture by James Gilbert. Carved from wood and assembled with metal before being finished with stain, varnish, and wax, the sculpture retains visible tool marks, exposed construction, and intentionally altered anatomy. Its physical presence remains open to multiple readings, allowing material, form, and title to operate as distinct but interconnected parts of the work.
