An Opportunity, A Conversation | James Gilbert

Hand-carved wooden sculpture composed of three interconnected anthropomorphic figures with elongated necks and simplified heads. A circular carved element and projecting wooden form extend from the side of the composition. Pink stain, ink, varnish, and wax emphasize carved textures while allowing the wood grain to remain visible.

A hand-carved wooden sculpture composed of interconnected anthropomorphic forms arranged around a central body. Three elongated necks terminate in simplified heads with carved facial features, while circular and projecting wooden elements extend from the side of the composition to create an open, multidirectional structure. Tool marks, faceted carving, and carved scale-like textures remain visible beneath layers of stain, ink, varnish, and wax. The translucent finish preserves the natural grain of the wood while emphasizing the hand-worked surface.
