How Much Earth For Sale? | James Gilbert
A site-responsive outdoor sculpture composed of a rammed-earth wall intersected by a painted steel framework outlining the form of a house. Multiple open steel frames create a sequence of thresholds that pass through the compacted earth structure, establishing shifting relationships between enclosure and open space. Constructed from earth, concrete, wood, metal, and paint, the work integrates architectural form with land-based materials, allowing the surrounding landscape to become an active component of the sculpture.
