A Historic Point of Interest and Other Landmarks examines the deliberate destruction of cultural heritage and the structures created to preserve it. While natural disasters and accidents can damage art and architecture, the intentional destruction of monuments, historical sites, and cultural artifacts seeks to erase identity, memory, and collective history.

Prompted by encounters with archaeological ruins, the work considers how fragments of architecture can come to represent the memory of an entire place. Partial walls, foundations, and isolated structural elements continue to carry cultural authority despite their incompleteness. These architectural remnants are activated through the introduction of individual sculptural objects, suggesting histories that extend beyond what physically remains.

Constructed from paint, canvas, marble, and wood, the sculptures pair architectural fragments with protective barricades and speculative forms. Occupying an uncertain space between infrastructure, monument, and artifact, they invite reflection on what societies choose to preserve and why. They suggest that the act of protection is itself a cultural act, capable of creating new layers of meaning long after the original monument has been altered or lost.
